Yellow snow warning in Stockholm – slippery and snowdrifts

SMHI has issued a yellow snow warning in Stockholm on Tuesday evening.
Tomorrow there are both yellow and orange warnings for snowfall in southern Sweden.
– It will cause problems in traffic. It will be slippery, it will go slowly and there will be poor visibility, says TV4 Nyheternas meteorologist Leon Lee.

The snowfall in combination with wind will lead to slippage, poor visibility, snowdrifts, drifts and drifts, writes SMHI. The yellow warning on Tuesday evening applies to the easternmost parts of Uppland, Sörmland and Östergötland.

In the next 24 hours, 10-20 centimeters of snow is expected with large local variations.

More snow and cold in the south

The southern parts of the country will get double-digit minus degrees later this week – and a lot of snow.

– There are both yellow and orange warnings in southern Götaland, where there can locally be up to three decimetres of fresh snow from last night to Thursday morning, says meteorologist Leon Lee.

The severe cold in the north continues. On Tuesday it was the coldest in Kvikkjokk, Norrbotten.

– It has been bitterly cold in the north due to high pressure. It seems the temperature continues to drop. It has been 42.8 minus degrees at the lowest, in Kvikkjokk.
