The aim of the association is to be a “shop of the village, for the village”. For example, Henks must be a neighborhood supermarket where you can do affordable shopping, pick up packages and have a chat. The range of shops will also be expanded with more fresh products from local entrepreneurs, such as cheese, beer, eggs, vegetables and bread. “The store must become so attractive that a broad target group will buy there. Because fellow villagers can become members and receive a discount, involvement (and therefore turnover) will increase. The store must really belong to all of us,” according to the association.
