The firm, with several launches this year, should take the opportunity to benefit from one of the most powerful processors unveiled very recently: the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. What are the characteristics of the Xiaomi 12?
Little information is available about the new Xiaomi 12 and its potential versions. However, the firm has already officially announced that the smartphone will be the first to benefit from the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor unveiled by the company Qualcomm at the end of November.
This new chip should equip many smartphones very high-end to come in 2022. Xiaomi confirms, however, that its future Xiaomi 12 will be the first device to be equipped with it. This is very good news which already makes it possible to imagine the smartphone as the most powerful in its category … before the arrival of the competition. The new Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip is announced as 20% more powerful than its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888, which notably powers the Xiaomi Mi 11 and 11T Pro.
Regarding the other characteristics of the Xiaomi 12, several leaks already suggest the possibility ofa curved screen, which are regularly found on high-end smartphones, as well as two balanced speakers capable of delivering true stereo sound.
What release date for the Xiaomi 12?
The recent announcement of the company concerning the Xiaomi 12 equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen1 also allows to get an idea of the release date of the smartphone. If the latter wishes to honor its promise to be “the first to benefit from the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor”, it should soon be unveiled.
Indeed, other competing smartphones have already announced that they will also benefit from the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, and will be available in the middle of December. The Xiaomi 12 should therefore be available before December 15.
What price for the Xiaomi 12?
The Xiaomi 12 is still very discreet on many points, and in particular its launch price. It is still difficult to comment on the subject, but we can always refer to the price of the brand’s previous smartphones, in particular the Xiaomi Mi 11 launched in February 2021:

- Xiaomi Mi 11 in 256 GB version: 799 euros.
