Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will soon be able to access hundreds of games directly on their TV, through a Fire TV Stick 4K or Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Good news for gamers! Amazon and Microsoft have entered into a partnership that will see the Xbox Game Pass app ported to the 2023 versions of the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Stick 4K, as announced by the Redmond firm in a statement. So far available on consoles, PC, Android, portable consoles, some Smart TVs and via a web browser, the service will soon be accessible thanks to these small accessories that allow any television to access online content. The only condition to enjoy it: be subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate formula, which allows you to play in cloud gaming. The application will be available in July in more than twenty-five countries.

Xbox Game Pass: hundreds of games accessible via the Fire TV Stick

As a reminder, the Xbox Game Pass allows, via a monthly subscription, to access a catalog of around a hundred games, including Microsoft exclusives. The Ultimate version of the subscription, at €14.99 per month, allows you to enjoy it in cloud gaming. With this technology, the device on which you play calculates nothing or almost nothing: it is practically only used to display the images of the game which are calculated remotely, by specialized servers, and sent in real time. In short, the device only serves as a screen and a control device. All the heavy processing, which requires powerful processors, particularly for graphics, is carried out remotely on the servers. To enjoy Cloud Gaming, all you need is a fast Internet connection and a screen with controls.

Also, simply install the Xbox Game Pass application via the Fire TV Stick and log in with your Microsoft account having a current Ultimate subscription. You also need to connect a compatible game controller via Bluetooth – Xbox One, Series and Adaptive wireless controllers, as well as PlayStation DualSense and DualShock 4 are supported.

While this is great news for those who would like to try out the joystick without having to invest in a console or be limited to a PC screen, it is also very practical for those who are often on the move, since you just have to take the Fire TV Stick with you and plug it into any screen with an HDMI port, to enjoy the Xbox Game Pass catalog in streaming.
