Developed for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC replacedis set to debut in 2025. The game, which was first announced in 2021, created great expectation with its remarkable trailer. However, its release was first postponed to 2022 and then to 2023. Now, in a new post on social media, developer Sad Cat Studios hinted that the game will be released this year and gave the message to fans, “Stay tuned in 2025.”

Replaced stands out as a 2.5D action platform game set in a retro-futuristic science fiction universe. Players control REACH, an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its will. The game’s story focuses on exploring the dark secrets of Phoenix-City in an alternate 1980s world where corruption and greed reign. Combining cinematic platform elements, pixel art and fluid combat mechanics, the game aims to present a dystopian story.
Sad Cat Studios states that it focuses on the visual and gameplay quality of the game. Replaced will also be available to players via Xbox Game Pass. This is seen as an important step aimed at bringing the game to a wide audience.
