X Twitter has updated its privacy policy Users beware

According to Bloomberg’s report, social media platform X has updated its privacy policy.

In its new policy, the company announced that “biometric information can be collected and used for security, safety and identification purposes,” depending on users’ permission.

DON’T KNOW HOW TO COLLECT OR USE

On the other hand, while “biometric information” is used by other technology companies to identify data obtained from people’s faces, eyes and fingerprints, it is not known what X indicates with this definition, how it will collect this data or how it will be used.

X’s representative did not provide further details on the matter while confirming the new policy change.

The company also reportedly aims to gather more information on users’ occupations and educational backgrounds.

Personal information such as job, educational background, employment preferences, skills and abilities can be collected and used to suggest potential jobs to users, share with potential employers when a job is applied for, enable employers to find potential candidates, and show users more relevant ads.

The previous privacy policy in effect did not contain any provision regarding biometric data or the education and employment history of users. (AA)
