The statement emphasized that in order to protect the safety of the staff, the decision was made to “close” the office in Brazil “effective immediately.” The statement shared the information that the X service will continue to be offered to the Brazilian people, and noted that the responsibility for this situation belongs “solely” to Moraes.
“His actions are incompatible with democratic governance. The Brazilian people have a choice to make: democracy or Alexandre de Moraes,” the statement said.
