Staff put a catheter on the wrong person at a residence in Kramfors municipality. The procedure led to an infection, and two weeks later the resident died, reports SVT Nyheter Västernorrland.
The municipality has now submitted a lex Maria notification to the Inspectorate for Care and Care.
According to the report, the catheter replacement caused the patent unnecessary suffering and pain, and is suspected of having contributed to the death. After the change, the nurse must also break down in the documentation and reporting of the incident. According to the resident, the nurse is no longer in the business.
