WoW WoLK Classic: Release date is officially confirmed

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

After a leak, it’s now official: The release date of Wrath of the Lich King for WoW Classic is September 27, 2022. A short trailer should make you excited about the upcoming expansion.

When is the release? As Blizzard revealed in a tweet and a slightly longer blog post, WotLK Classic is scheduled to be released on September 27 at 12:01 a.m. German time. This confirms the leak and you now have almost exactly 2 months to prepare for the release.

For many players, WotLK is one of the best expansions of World of Warcraft or even the absolute wedding of WoW. With Arthas, the addon brought one of the most popular opponents from Warcraft into play and put him in front of the players as the final boss of the expansion.

In preparation, you’re currently getting 50% bonus experience in Burning Crusade Classic. By the way, TBC will be shut down when WotLK is released and will no longer be available, at least for the time being. Unlike Classic, there will be no “BC Era” servers.

WotLK Classic – What’s Inside One of the Best Expansions?

These are the features: With Wrath of the Lich King, a new class and at the same time the first hero class of WoW was introduced for the first time, the death knight. This got its own class starting area and didn’t have to start at level 1 like all the other losers, but started at level 55.

The Death Knight has undergone many changes over time, greatly simplifying its complicated rune system and talents. However, WotLK Classic will bring back the harder version of the Death Knight. Other features of the extension include:

  • Level 70 as the new max level
  • Northrend as a new area with Dalaran as the capital
  • The Icegrain Citadel as the last, big raid with Arthas as the big boss
  • You begin your journey in Northrend in either the Boreal Tundra or the Howling Fjord, and then fight your way through zone by zone all the way to Icecrown, where Arthas will eventually await you.

By the way, Arthas only found its final end in the current expansion Shadowlands.

What is changing compared to before? Like Classic and TBC, WotLK is released at the latest patch 3.3.5. Many bugs have already been fixed and the class balancing has been adjusted a bit better. So death knights are no longer absolutely dominant, but still one of the strongest classes. In addition, a few other things are changing compared to before:

Otherwise, WotLK Classic should be pretty much the same as the expansion you know from 2008. And in any case, one of the most sought-after mounts from WoW will be available (again): Invincible, the now undead horse of Arthas Menethil. This is still farmed today and triggers honest nerd joy:
