WoW veteran is converted from Classic to Retail after 5 years: “I finally understand it”

After years of wow Classic, a player finally finds the modern World of Warcraft – and is welcomed by the community.

Fans of World of Warcraft have a great nemesis – other fans of World of Warcraft, but they play the “wrong” version. Classic-Wow defenders in particular often make fun of “retail”, i.e. the current version of The War Within. But every now and then someone is converted – and then in a good mood from the community.

The situation would only worsen through a WoW 2.0, but what about it?:

What happened? In WoW’s subreddit, the player 1ne_Mind posts and is guilty of constantly knitting Retail – only to understand now how wrong he was.

I was a classic genie for 5 years. I originally stopped with Retail to the Burning Crusade because of reasons. When I look at Retail, I spotted.

In short, I decided to just try retail and now I understand it. Damn it, I understand it.

The initial blow of the multitude of new things with which you are incurred is a bit disorienting, and I think I haven’t really understood everything yet, but that’s not a big problem. It is so much more forgiven as far as your time is concerned, there is so many more adaptation, so many small things, more of everything, while it still keeps the wow feeling.

I understand why people love classic, hunting this nostalgia kite is a damn trip. But from a certain point where you always repeat the same things, it becomes a bit monotonous.

I don’t understand why this war has to be

Community reacts extremely positively: The contribution has received over 2,000 upvotes and basically 1NE_MING is showered with a lot of positivity. Many congratulate him to have overcome the basic “anti-attitude” and just enjoy both games:

  • “As someone who changes back and forth between retail and classic, the speed of the game is the biggest difference. Classic feels so damn slowly. I can understand the attraction of it for people who don’t want to play at high speed. But I always come back to Retail because of the “Quality of Life” improvements. ” – Obligationslight8771
  • “I understand why people love classic, I understand why they love retail and I understand why you love both. But I don’t understand why this eternal war must be between us and the eternal comparison … if both are good for different reasons and play styles. ” – Edelea
  • One of us, one of us! – Hottage
  • Do you also have a Classic competitor in the Freundeskreis who complains about Retail all the time, but actually gave it a fair chance? Or is it just the other way around with you that many who don’t know Classic at all rather think bad about it? In WoW Classic, the developers even deliberately installed bugs so that the old feeling of play is preserved.
