The most expensive mount of all time is now available to buy in World of Warcraft. However, it is comparatively “cheap” when you think about the alternative.
World of Warcraft is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary – most people had already guessed it, but of course that also comes with some new offers in the shop. While there is a solid mount bundle, another mount is causing a stir – because Blizzard wants to see almost €80 for it.
What happened? A few minutes ago a new mount appeared in the World of Warcraft in-game shop. The “Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur” is on sale for €78 – and some people actually seem pretty happy about it.
What kind of mount is this? The Gold-adorned Merchant Brutosaurus is not only huge in size, but also comes with 2 NPCs that offer unique services. One of the two allows you to open your mailbox, but the second character is more interesting: you can access the auction house from any location in the game where you can summon a mount.
What are the reactions from the community? They are quite different. While there are many voices who find a mount for €78 scandalously expensive and see the practice of “FOMO” (fear of missing out) established here, not everyone feels that way. Some people are happy that such a mount is now available again and also find the price of €78 reasonable.
What is criticized, however, is that the offer is considered to be “limited in time” – and it is not known for how long.
Brutosaurus can also be purchased with gold – for 1.8 million
How much is that in gold? If you want to buy the Brutosaur with gold, you can do so via the WoW token. In this case, you would currently have to buy 6 WoW tokens at a price of around 300,000 gold each – but the price fluctuates constantly. This corresponds to a total cost of 1.8 million gold.
This means that the new Brutosaur is significantly cheaper than the previous variant – especially at this point in time. Because anyone who wants to buy the old Brutosaur now has to hope for luck at the black market auction house and is almost guaranteed to pay “gold cap” – i.e. 9,999,999 gold. This means that the new dinosaur essentially costs “only” 1/5 of the price.
Anyone who has that much gold can of course take advantage of it – but everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to pay more than the cost of a full-price title in euros. If you prefer cheaper mounts, we have tips here on how you can best farm them.
