The YouTuber Harldan deals intensively with speed runs in World of Warcraft. Already in the beta he spent several hours trying to find the fastest route to leveling in Dragonflight. He now presents this in a video.
How fast was he? With his all new character, it took Harldan 3 hours and 21 minutes to get him from level 10 to level 60. So with his strategy, you could go from a new character to entering the new areas of Dragonflight in one evening.
However, the YouTuber benefited from some buffs that are currently active, as well as items that he previously organized. Already, players are breaking some records on the live server due to the buffs.
Level route, tips and buffs for the record run
How did he set this record? First, Harldan created a Vulpera monk. He considers the Monk’s Windwalker build to be the strongest when it comes to speed runs.
After that he collected all kinds of materials and items that make leveling easier for him. This includes extra bags, potions, buff food, quest items, and heirlooms. Heirlooms are special pieces of gear that scale with your level, so you don’t have to worry about being underpowered for your level at some point.
Also important are potions that increase the experience you receive, as well as items that allow him to run faster. He recommends the Cracked Control Gem for the Radinax.
You can watch the full run here:
What limited buffs did he benefit from? The WoW Birthday buff is also available on the beta server, which brought 18% additional experience points. Additionally, he used the Darkmoon event to get another 10% buff.
However, both events are time-limited, which is why you will not be able to use them directly at the start of Dragonflight.
What was his level route?
He also makes sure to find and kill “rare spawns” throughout the run. Sometimes they give as many experience points as a whole quest.
Incidentally, from level 50 to level 60, Harldan only needed about 30 minutes. However, adjustments have been made here for Dragonflight compared to the current live version of Shadowlands. In general, the experience required up to level 60 with Dragonflight is significantly less (around 57%, via IcyVeins).
Would it have gone even faster? According to Harldan yes. He lost some time in long loading screens and also had bad luck with the elevators in Orgrimmar. The time could probably be pushed back a few minutes.
What do you think of this Harldan speedrun? And how do you prepare for leveling in Dragonflight? Feel free to write it in the comments.
