WoW player masters success that seems miles away for many because the competitors are simply too bad

Solo queue for Rated Battlegrounds has made it easier for some World of Warcraft players to achieve some PvP achievements. Others, however, get stuck in certain scoring areas because the randomly assigned competitors drag the team down.

Since when can you register solo for Ranked Battlegrounds? This was tested for the first time with WoW patch 10.2 and a regular brawl variant in which two teams of eight players each meet in the Warsong Gorge and other selected battlefields.

The concept was well received by a sufficient number of players and was integrated into the standard offering for PvP fans with the pre-patch for WoW: The War Within. “Rated Battleground Blitz” also relies on 8vs8 games and a higher pace. You will have the opportunity to register for Ranked Battlegrounds alone or in pairs (with a healer).

What kind of success did the player achieve? Lats9 reports on Reddit that he was able to surpass a rating of 2,400 in WoW PvP for the first time, securing the “Supreme Warlord” achievement. He mastered a total of 110 battlefield games.

He himself is particularly keen on the elite set. The solo queues turned out to be a “game changer” because the ranked battlefield games were a lot of fun and the waiting times were much shorter than in the arenas.

Not everyone can win

How does the community react to the experience report? Unfortunately, many of the commenting players have had rather bad experiences with “Rated Battleground Blitz” when it comes to specifically increasing their own rating.

  • Sodasodapls agrees with a player on Reddit that the queues aren’t always short: “Yes, I tried to join the queue twice and had to wait 30 to 40 minutes. I don’t do this crap to myself. I don’t play to wait in line, it’s absurd.”
  • Jefok despairs (via Reddit): “Get nothing but the downward spiral in solo-rated BGs. I signed up for 10 games as a 1600 rated healer and lost them all. So many poorly equipped people ruin the fun of the game. I’ve almost given up on earning the gear appearances to just wait for the new season.”
  • It’s a similar story for Pacific_Marlin (via Reddit): “If I win a round, I’ll be destroyed in the next few rounds. It’s crazy how little equipment some people are in there with. I’m stuck at 1,600 and, like the thread creator, I’ve played around 120 games. Just unfair.”
  • But there are also players who – like Lats9 – have had better luck with the solo battlefields:

  • Cprice11c celebrates on Reddit: “I have mine [Erfolg] Got on my reinforcement shaman tonight! Congratulations, man! I love Arena, but I had the time of my life on the battlefields. I think I’m too old for the arena now, haha”
  • lnk-cr-b82rez-2g4 writes on Reddit: “Congratulations! I was just able to do this myself on my Affliction Sorcerer and am absolutely thrilled. I’m not the best at PvP and have never bothered to get into it due to fear and bad temper. But this path to the top has really helped me improve both my gameplay and my overall attitude towards competitive gaming.”
  • What are your experiences with solo queues in Ranked Battlegrounds so far? Did you also have a good time or did you have to live with long waiting times and bad colleagues? Tell us in the comments! By the way, did you already know: Of all things, the “selfie camera” ruined PvP in WoW.
