WoW leave guild: which command to use?

How to leave the guild in WoW? This works with a simple command in the chat, which we show you here.

What is it about? In World of Warcraft you can join guilds to level up, chat or raid together. If at some point you make the decision to leave the guild, all you have to do is implement it in the game.

The command to leave a guild:

  • Open your chat with “Enter” and then type “/gquit” and confirm with “Enter”
  • Attention: You will not be asked if you want to confirm – after you have confirmed your message with Enter, you are directly from the guild
  • Tip: Save yourself embarrassment and write /gquit in the chat without quotation marks. Otherwise the message ends up in the chat without any effect

    • Leave guild without chat command: The second way to leave a guild in WoW is via the guild menu.

  • Press “J” to bring up the guild menu and right-click on your name in the list of players
  • Click on “Leave Guild”
  • You will now be asked if you are sure you want to leave the guild
  • If you confirm this, you leave the guild

    • Both versions work in WoW and in WoW Classic.

    Leave the guild as a guild master – Here’s how

    You need to know: If you are the guild master and have members, you can make another player master before leaving your guild.

    But what if you are the guild master of a guild with no members?

    This is the command for guild masters:

  • With “/gdisband” you can completely dissolve a guild without members

    You can also search for communities in the guild browser

    In the current WoW (i.e. not in Classic) you will find a guild browser on “J” if you don’t have one yet. There you can indicate which role you play and briefly introduce yourself in a comment. The guild masters can then view your application and decide if you fit into the guild. You can also set the type of players you are looking for in the search filter.
