With Patch 11.1 there is a new weapon that many want to have in World of Warcraft. Because it is “Best in Slots”, even when you don’t need it at all.
Slowly but surely, Patch 11.1 Undermine(d) from World of Warcraft is within reach. More and more information is becoming known from data mining, including the new weapons from the raid “The Liberation of Lorenhall”. A weapon is probably the best thing you can equip – because that’s what the weapon claims about itself.
What kind of weapon is that? The rather unusual weapon called “Best-in-Slots” is a two-handed mace that comes in two versions. The weapon is available as a strength/agility variant and as an intelligence variant.
Although “Best in Slots” has no secondary stats, it does have a chance to increase a random secondary stat by a large value for 15 seconds. This makes the weapon significantly worse than other weapons as long as the effect is not active – but arguably significantly stronger as long as it is active.
The use effect is also attractive. Because in combat you can activate the weapon every 2 minutes to immediately receive a strong bonus to the currently highest secondary value (also for 15 seconds).
If you use the weapon outside of combat, you can change the variation – for example, turn the intelligence weapon into one with mobility or strength.
Because of this adaptability, the weapon is likely to be sought after by druids, paladins or shamans – but perhaps warriors and death knights only want it for the strength version.
The name “Best-in-Slots” is not only an allusion to gamer language, where a “Best in Slot” weapon is the optimum for the character, but also a play on words with the casino. Because the mace is of course the “best in slots” when it simply destroys the slot machines and you can win that way.
Are there other effects? Yes. In Liberation of Lorenhall there are also some other weapons with special effects that are only available in this raid. Even though the other weapons cannot switch between different “stances,” some do have interesting properties.
There are many weapons that have the suffix “Vile Contamination” in German, for example “Abominable Contamination”. Weapons with this attachment have a chance to apply a debuff to the target hit, dealing minor shadow damage every 3 seconds. However, the debuff stacks up to 25 times – and lasts until the enemy dies. This can pay off, especially in long boss fights.
The hunt for the perfect weapon is likely to continue in season 2 of The War Within. And even though the ultimate weapon may not be included, there are a number of improvements that make the new raid more enjoyable.
