The celebratory mood has broken out in World of Warcraft. Patch 11.0.5 is now live and offers lots of temporary content.
World of Warcraft is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Blizzard’s MMORPG has been around for two decades now and there’s a lot to celebrate on the occasion of this anniversary – and you can feel that in the game from now on. The latest patch is almost entirely about this anniversary and brings numerous rewards that you can earn in the next few weeks and months.
What are the highlights? The majority of the event takes place in Tanaris, outside the Caves of Time. Here the bronze dragons – and lots of other figures – have pitched their tents and are celebrating their birthday. Some of the most important things at this event include:
There are also numerous smaller activities that are primarily intended to be fun – such as a riding animal competition, the opportunity to pose as well-known NPCs or an ice slide.
What else is there? Aside from the innovations, there is also a lot of the usual content from previous anniversary events. This means that world bosses in the form of Nightmare Dragons will appear around the world and the PvP mode “Korrak’s Revenge” will also return for Alterac Valley.
Additionally, many of the old rewards from past celebrations can also be purchased from vendors if you don’t already own them.
Until when is the content available? If you want to grab all the rewards, you can take your time. Because the event is active not just for a few weeks, but for several months. The celebrations will continue until January 7, 2025, so everyone should have more than enough time to earn the rewards they want.
When the celebrations come to an end in 2025, things should continue almost seamlessly with patch 11.0.7 or 11.1. Beledar will most likely also play a role – a mystery that was only solved a few days ago.
