WoW Dragonflight: Players set new dungeon record in Mythic+

During the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) tournament in WoW: Dragonflight, a team set a new record. They progressed through a dungeon faster than anyone else in the history of the tournament.

What is this tournament? The MDI are international competitions in World of Warcraft. Teams compete in Mythic Keystone dungeons (“Mythic+”). 8 of these teams then advance to the Global Finals and play for a prize pool of $300,000.

Within the Global Finals, Team Mandatory set a new record for Ruby Life Pools. They completed the Ruby Life Pool, which until recently was the hardest dungeon ever, in 8 minutes and 54 seconds. This is the fastest dungeon run in MDI history, as confirmed by raider.io (via Twitter).

The previous record was held by “Perplexed” with a time of 9 minutes and 16 seconds. Almost every team is under 10 minutes during the MDI, but Mandatory is the only team to go under 9 minutes.

This is how Mandatory breaks the record

This lineup was chosen by Mandatory for the dungeon: The team consisted of a Protection Warrior, a Discipline Priest, a Feral Druid, a Fire Mage, and an Unholy Death Knight. Her keystone level was fixed at +20.

The Ruby Lifepool is a relatively straight-forward dungeon that’s good for speedruns.

First, they took all the mobs from the first corridor into the boss room of Melidrussa the Chilled, killing the first mini-boss, Defiant Draghar, and a Primeval Colossus. They already use their bloodlust for this.

Then, after a time of 2:07, they got to the second area of the dungeon. The two infamous dragons skipped them to save time. However, in Mythic+ dungeons, you have to kill a certain number of mobs to get 100% enemy kills. In the last trash group, defeat the Blazebound Destroyer and take the remaining mobs into the boss fight. This is how Mandatory stand out from other groups, which usually completely conquer the group beforehand.

When they defeated the second boss, the team’s time is 6:24. Upcoming enemies – the Storm Channeler and two Storm Warriors – players will sneak past using invisibility potions to go straight to the location of the final boss. There they pull all mobs, including the mini-boss Supreme Channeler Ryvati.

After pulling the final boss, Mandatory went back to the two Storm Warriors they previously skipped to fill their percentage meter with them. They drag her into the boss fight against Erkhart and Kyrakka. The final battle lasts a total of 1:14.
