Worst train punctuality since 2010

The rail industry’s goal is for 95 percent of trains to arrive on time, which includes that the train has reached its final destination with a delay of a maximum of five minutes and 59 seconds.

But in 2024, only 87.2 percent of all trains met that goal. This is the worst figure since 2010.

– We will have to wait until all the numbers have been double-checked and analyzed, but much points to the fact that we have never before had the same high impact on traffic due to unauthorized people on tracks as in 2024, says Anna Ericsson, head of the Traffic business area, in a press release.

She continues:

– But I want to emphasize that better punctuality is not a quick fix.
