Unexploited resources, lack of political initiative and armed conflicts are some of the several reasons why Africa cannot manage its own food supply. The severe drought that hit the continent does not make the situation any easier.
Are there water resources
A survey by the organization Wateraid shows that a large majority of countries in Africa have enormous groundwater resources. In the vast majority of cases, there is enough to supply the population with water for at least five years – in some cases it can stretch up to fifty years, but the problem is, among other things, that it is difficult to get access to those resources.
