From February 6 to 19, the world ski championships are taking place in France near Méribel and Courchevel.
For the third time in history after Chamonix in 1937 and 1962 and Val d’Isère in 2009, France is organizing the Alpine Skiing World Championships in Méribel / Courchevel. The different disciplines take place on 2 different tracks: L’Éclipse in Courchevel for the men’s events and the Roc de Fer in Méribel for the women’s events.
In 2021, Mathieu Faivre had shone on the slopes of Cortina in Italy by winning two world titles in giant slalom and parallel. For women, the last gold medal dates back to 2017 and Tessa Worley, crowned in giant slalom near Saint-Moritz in Switzerland. For these Worlds in France, Alexis Pinturault, the Olympic slalom champion Clément Noël or Johan Clarey in downhill, can bring back a medal to France. Among the women, all eyes will once again be on Tessa Worley, the only real female chance.
