World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will miss a PGA Tour event for the second time.
The number one in the men’s world ranking in golf Scottie Scheffler will stay away from the competition fields until at least January 16th For the duration of the PGA Tour competition.
Scheffler, 28, injured his right hand while preparing Christmas dinner. The wound, which required surgery, kept the American out of Sunday’s PGA Tour opener.
– While preparing dinner on Christmas Day, Scottie got a puncture wound on his right hand from broken glass. There were small shards of glass in the palm that required surgery. He’s been told he should be 100 percent fit in three to four weeks, Scheffler’s manager Blake Smith said on December 27.
Scheffler, who golfed to Olympic gold in Paris, is the first player Tiger Woods (2005–2007) after being named PGA Tour Player of the Year for three consecutive years. Scheffler won a total of seven races on the PGA tour last year.
