World No 1 Iga Swiatek is changing his coach

Polish tennis star Swiatek, 23, will also withdraw from next week’s WTA tournament in Wuhan.

The number one player in the women’s tennis world rankings Iga Swiatek announced on Friday that no Tomasz Wiktorowski continue to coach him. At the same time, Swiatek announced that she would withdraw from the WTA tournament to be played in Wuhan next week.

– I’m really sorry to the fans in China and to those who are waiting to see me play, but I hope you understand that I need some time, Swiatek said Wuhan WTA tournament on the X account.

Swiatek, who praised Wiktorowski profusely, said that he had preliminary discussions with possible new coaches, but did not bring up any names yet.

Swiatek, who has been number one in the world rankings since November 2023, has won five grand slam tournaments in his career.
