    Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri is said to support the tourism chief’s proposal for a fee to enter the steps of the famous baroque monument Trevi Fountain.

    The ticket to the fountain is supposed to cost two euros, equivalent to SEK 22. But such a fee must first be approved by Rome’s city council.

    The fee only applies to those who want to walk the nine steps to the fountain. Those who only go to Trevi square do not have to pay.

  • SAS plane turned around in the air after technical problems

    An SAS plane on its way to Umeå from Arlanda had to turn around on Friday evening after 30 minutes in the air, according to SAS.

    The plane turned around after indications of technical problems and made a normal landing at Arlanda.

    The passengers then had to change to another aircraft that was going to Umeå.

    It should not be an engine failure but some other type of problem according to SAS.

    – When there is an indication of a technical problem, it is not certain that it is actually a problem, but you have to be safe before the safe, writes Irena Busic, press spokesperson at SAS.

    On Friday evening, the police moved out against a large number of patrols to Bro, north of Stockholm. A witness describes how more than 10 police cars drove at high speed on the E18.

    Initially, there were reports of a bang that was heard in the area, but on the spot it turned out to have probably been caused by broken glass when someone smashed a window to a workshop.

    – A man has been severely beaten with a stick in or adjacent to a workshop. The injuries should not be life-threatening and no one has been arrested, says Anders Bryngelsson, press spokesperson at the police’s regional command center.

    The police have started a preliminary investigation into attempted murder or serious assault.

  • Police fired warning shots at knifeman

    A man armed with a knife has lunged at motorists in Tidaholm, the police say.

    When the patrols arrived at the scene, he was ordered to show his hands, without listening.

    After the police fired a warning shot, he was able to be arrested.

    No one should have been injured.

    He is now suspected of serious crime against the Knife Act and drug crime.

    The famous musk ox Brutus is dead.

    “It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that late last night for animal welfare reasons we were forced to put our fine bull Brutus to sleep,” Myskoxcentrum in Härjedalen writes on Facebook.

    In recent years, Brutus has wandered around several villages in Jämtland, looking for a new family. He left his herd in the mountain world west of Tännäs in 2018. He was moved to the Myskox center in Härjedalen late summer 2021.

    On Monday he was sedated for an annual health check and then fell ill a few days later and was euthanized on Thursday. The autopsy has shown that he had damage to the gastrointestinal tract and suffered from blood poisoning.

    A motorcycle has driven off the road on county road 204 west of Svartå, the police write on their website.

    One person is said to be involved in the accident, but the extent of the damage is still unclear.

    The road in the area has been closed in both directions.

    Trump was indicted on suspicion of ordering payments to former porn star Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair they had.

  • Teenagers detained after murder in Södertälje

    Two 16-year-olds have been detained on suspicion of being involved in a murder in Södertälje, reports SVT Nyheter Södertälje.

    They are both suspected of aiding and abetting murder.

    – One of them is also suspected of serious weapons offences, says prosecutor Ida Arnell to TT.

    Early in the morning on July 2, a man in his 20s was shot to death in an apartment in Blombacka in Södertälje.

    Since before, two 18-year-olds are in custody suspected of the murder.

    A car and tram have collided at the Saltängsbron in central Norrköping, the police write on their website.

    One person has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

    It is unclear how serious the person’s injuries are.

    The vehicles involved have been able to be moved from the scene and traffic should be running again according to the police.

    Uppsala municipality has reported to the police a home care employee suspected of having raped an elderly woman.

    On Friday, the municipality called a press conference and announced that it is investigating another case where the employee is suspected, reports Uppsala New Newspaper.

    Another employee is also suspected of molestation, according to the municipality.

    – It doesn’t get more serious than this. That is why we are calling for an extra meeting on Friday evening, says municipal board chairman Erik Pelling (S), according to UNT.

    A car and a motorcycle have collided on a county road outside Kungälv.
