WORLD ANTHEM. Two official songs were unveiled by FIFA before the start of this World Cup in Qatar.
[Mis à jour le 20 novembre 2022 à 09h34] Qatar is no exception to the rule: to accompany the 2022 World Cup, which begins this Sunday, November 20, FIFA unveiled, in the months preceding the event, two official songs, designated as anthems of this football competition. Because Qatar has also decided to make music an integral part of this World Cup, in particular by inviting many French and international artists to come to Doha, during the opening ceremony this Sunday, or on the occasion daily concerts.
Last April, FIFA unveiled a first official anthem for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar: the song Hayya Hayya (Better Together)performed by the American R&B singer Trinidad Cardona, the Nigerian-American artist Davido and Aisha, a Qatari singer.
“Produced by multi-Grammy Award-winning producer RedOne, Hayya Hayya will be the first of many official FIFA World Cup songs,” read a press release at the time of the song’s release.
A Gims song as the anthem of the World Cup
Indeed, a few months later, in the summer of 2022, FIFA unveiled a second official anthem for this world football championship in Qatar, this time performed by an artist well known to the French public: gims. The interpreter of I shoot myself collaborated with Puerto Rican star Ozuna, on a song called Arbo.
Released on August 20 on YouTube, the song is also accompanied by a clip, shot in Qatar, which totals more than 30 million views on the platform.
