Nowadays there are more and more tools to have the things you read read aloud through speech. “Reading the words aloud is certainly a nice alternative that has been added, but it can never completely replace Braille,” explains Henk. “It also differs greatly from person to person what your preference is. For example, there are people who only use speech, only braille or a combination of both. We have a visual culture nowadays, but that does not mean that we no longer read and write texts. That is why I expect that Braille will never die.”
