Work in the Ukrainian parliament continues

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In Ukraine, the parliament continues to meet regularly, despite the ongoing raging war. But democratic work is, of course, different than before the full-scale invasion.

TV4 News’ Jona Källgren has met the Member of Parliament, Zhan Beleniuk in Kyiv. He has been a member of the Ukrainian parliament since 2019. But of course, the last 11 months have been absolutely tumultuous.

– It is clear, the parliament does not work as before. Before we sat every two weeks, but now there is so much work to do outside the country. We now usually meet twice over two weeks, says Zhan Beleniuk.

After the full-scale invasion began last February, he always carried a weapon. There was concern that Russian agents would try to kidnap or assassinate members of parliament.
