Lane reductions on Dufferin Avenue between Walnut Drive to McNaughton Avenue are scheduled from Thursday to Dec. 1.

Access to Arnold Street will be available using Elm Drive/Garnet Street during the closure at Dufferin Avenue. Traffic will be maintained on Dufferin Avenue at all times.

Motorists can expect to see lane reductions in the area as crews complete storm sewer and watermain work and undertake the final phase of road work along the corridor.

“Access to all properties and businesses will be maintained at all times,” municipal officials stated in a release. “During construction, the public is encouraged to plan travel in advance, consider alternate routes, follow signage and be patient while traveling in and around construction areas.”

The Dufferin Avenue reconstruction project involves the rehabilitation of 1.9 kilometers of the road from McNaughton Avenue to Walnut Drive, including the reconstruction of storm sewers and watermain pipes, rehabilitation of the asphalt road, reconstruction of existing sidewalks, traffic signals, and boulevard restoration.

Completion of all underground pipes, road and sidewalk work is scheduled for December, with boulevard restoration to be completed in the spring.
