(Finance) – Le businesses expect to achieve in June well 568 thousand hires for an indefinite or fixed-term contract exceeding one month, leading to nearly 1.4 million the number of hires in the June-August quarter, with an increase of over 9 thousand units compared to June 2022 (+1.5%) and of around 37 thousand units over the corresponding quarter (+2.8%). This is what emerges from the latest Bulletin of the Excelsior information system, produced by Unioncamere and Anpal.

Tourism and manufacturingwith more than 7,000 and 4,000 more hirings respectively, are supporting the demand for labour, while construction, personal services, financial and insurance services and IT and telecommunications services are down.

The industry as a whole research about 134 thousand workers who rise to 348 thousand in the June-August quarter. For the manufacturingwhich is looking for 89 thousand workers in the month and 237,000 in the quarter, the largest job opportunities concern the industries of mechatronics that they seek 22 thousand workers in the month and 58 thousand in the quarter, followed by the metallurgical and metal products industries (about 18 thousand in the month and 45 thousand in the quarter) and by the food industries (13 thousand in the month and 46 thousand in the quarter). For the sector of buildings 44,000 hires are planned for the month and approximately 111,000 hires for the quarter. In the sector of services they count instead 434 thousand employment contracts and over 1 million those for the June-August quarter. And the tourism to offer the greatest employment opportunities with over 164 thousand wanted workers in the month and around 353 thousand in the quarter, followed by the sector of services to people (71 thousand in the month and 165 thousand in the quarter) and trade (69 thousand in the month and 171 thousand in the quarter).

Also for June it is confirmed difficulty in finding qualified personnel: almost half of the wanted workers are difficult to find (+6.8 pp over June 2022). The difficulty of finding confirms the high figure for May, settling at 46%. Among the technical and highly specialized professions, the Borsino delle Professioni reports specialists in the life sciences (pharmacists, biologists, agronomists, etc.) with 80.3% being difficult to find, followed by technicians in the engineering field (68. 9%) and technicians for the management of the production processes of goods and services (68.5%), while among the figures of skilled workers the skilled workers assigned to finishing constructions (72.5%) and the foundrymen, welders, tinsmiths stand out , coppersmiths, metal carpentry fitters (70.7%).

The forecast for i permanent contracts (compared to June 2022 +12 thousand units; +14.8 %), also as a result of the high difficulty in finding personnel; while on the other hand the increase is less significant for fixed-term and seasonal contracts (compared to the previous year +8 thousand; + 2.3%) and the forecasts for occasional and VAT-registered collaboration contracts decrease (compared to 2022 – 15 thousand; -40.5%) and administration contracts (-2 thousand; -2.9%).

Under the territorial profile it is to be emphasized the high mismatch encountered by businesses in the North East for which about 52% of the profiles sought are difficult to find with peaks of 57.8% for Trentino-Alto Adige. Mismatch which stands at 47.1% for companies in the North West, 42.5% for companies in the South and Islands and 42.4% for companies in the Centre.
