Woodstock police asks for publics help in finding missing woman

A 28-year-old Woodstock man faces a several assault and weapons charges after a police investigation into an early morning stabbing.

Woodstock officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the Dundas and Wilson streets area at roughly 4:20 am Thursday morning. A wounded 32-year-old man was rushed to hospital for treatment and remains in care with serious – but not life-threatening – injuries.

Officers located a suspect, who allegedly fled before police arrival.

The man was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; two counts of assault with a weapon; aggravated assault; assault causing bodily harm; opioid possession and failure to comply with a release order.

Police are still seeking the weapon suspected of being used in the incident. If any members of the public find a hunting-type knife, they are asked to leave the weapon and immediately contact the Woodstock police at 519-537-2323.

Wanted man faces additional drug charges

An already wanted man is now facing a few additional charges after his Thursday evening arrest.

Officers with the Woodstock Police Service’s drug enforcement unit found the suspect in the Dundas and Clark streets area. With help from uniform patrol officers, police arrested the suspect and, during a search, allegedly found drugs and a weapon.

A 34-year-old Woodstock man was subsequently charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking; drug possession; possession of a weapon for a dangers purpose and failure to comply with a probation order.
