A Woodstock construction worker is getting ready for an extra-special Christmas after winning the $50,000 top prize in the Instant $50K Casino.

A regular lottery player, Stefan Mueller had previously enjoyed a small win here and there but had never come close to a jackpot.
“I was playing my ticket when I noticed one of my ‘lucky numbers’ matched,” Mueller said while visiting the OLG Prize Center in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “Then I saw that his match came with a $50,000 prize.
“I called my parents to share the exciting news, and my father responded, ‘Good job, son!’”
Mueller, who purchased the winning lottery ticket at the Dundas Mini Mart in Woodstock, said the winnings will provide an “opportunity for a fresh start.”
“I plan to use my winnings to pay some bills,” he said in a release. “I’m also a new dad, so this is a chance to ensure my daughter has a wonderful first Christmas.”
