Woodstock driver reportedly blows 4 times the legal limit: Police

A 48-year-old Woodstock driver is accused of blowing four-and-a-half times the legal limit during a Monday afternoon traffic stop.

The arrest came after officers received numerous reports of a suspected drunk driver who was allegedly swerving all of the road. When police found the driver and initially tried to drive a traffic stop, the driver ran a red light.

When police did stop and arrest the driver, a roadside test reportedly showed the driver had four-and-half-times the legal limit of alcohol in their system.

The driver has since been charged with two counts of impaired driving. In addition to the two charges, the driver was slapped with a 90-day driver’s license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.

Woodstock police also shared their thanks with the members of the public who reported the driver to police.

Reports of disturbance result in assault charges

A 25-year-old Woodstonian faces a series of assault-related charges after reports of a Saturday afternoon disturbance in the city’s downtown.

Early in the afternoon, a concerned citizen approached Woodstock officers on foot patrol about an individual causing an unspecified disturbance in the area of ​​Dundas and Graham streets.

As the officers approached, they allegedly saw the accused and threatened another person.

As a result on the investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged with one count of assault, once count of assaulting a peace officer, two counts of uttering threats, one count of causing a disturbance and once count of failing to comply with a probation order .
