Wood seller Gerrit Verhoef from Schoonrewoerd has been selling blocks for the stove for forty years, but notices little of the declining popularity. “Customers are dropping off, but we are getting busier almost every year,” Verhoef told NOS. “I also hear from people with stove stores that they still sell a lot of stoves, especially wood stoves.”
