Bukayo Saka missed the decisive penalty in the European Championship final between England and Italy. Afterwards, he received many racist messages on social media. The young supporter, Teddy, then chose to donate his weekly allowance to Saka to show his support – who has now repaid the favor.
Last summer’s European Championship final went all the way to a penalty shoot-out and Bukayo Saka stepped forward as England’s last marksman. If he misses, Italy wins gold, but if he puts the ball, the final lives on.
Donated his weekly allowance to Saka
You all know what happened. Saka burned and Italy became European champions at Wembley. The Arsenal player became a big scapegoat and afterwards there were several people who sent racist messages to the midfielder via social media.
When it became known, several supporters chose to show their appreciation to Bukayo Saka. The young supporter Teddy chose to write a letter and also send his weekly allowance to show his support.
In the documentary series “All or Nothing: Arsenal”, you can see Saka giving back and offering Teddy a long tour around Arsenal’s home arena, the Emirates Stadium.
Nice pictures
Among other things, Teddy gets a tour with Saka around the arena and visits both the dressing room and the football pitch. And once down on the grass, the supporter also gets to play football with Saka – and the pictures are just gorgeous.
What a nice gesture from both of them. So incredibly nice to see!
