Won Ski Classics yesterday – best Swedish in Davos

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

With 36 long kilometers in his legs, Dahl moved from Italy and the long-distance cup (Ski Classics) on Saturday to Switzerland and the “regular” world cup in cross-country skiing on Sunday.

The 26-year-old won the race in Italy (La Venosta) and also became the best Swede in the 20 kilometer freestyle in Davos.

Dahl was 16th in the race, 2.10 behind today’s American winner Jessie Diggins.

Norwegian Ingvild Flugstad Østberg took second place, while American Rosie Brennan grabbed third place.

The second best Swede was Jenny Larsson (33rd), who also participated in La Venosta, where she was beaten by Dahl by 1.6 seconds.

The Swedish national team in cross-country skiing has suffered several interruptions to this weekend’s World Cup competitions in Davos, among others in the form of Maja Dahlqvist, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Emma Ribom and Calle Halfvarsson.
