The maximum win on the particular online game the man played at Norsk Tipping was 100,000 kroner, a sum significantly lower than the one he took home.

25 million was immediately deposited into the Norwegian’s account.

The man was aware that the online game had a maximum win of SEK 100,000, with the exception of a jackpot of SEK five million.

The head of gaming operations at Norsk Tipping Hans Erland Ringsvold suspect that the man understood that the win was a mistake because shortly afterwards he contacted Norsk Tipping and returned the money.

– The customer himself contacted us because he realized that this was wrong. The customer has returned the money and we are of course happy about that. The customer has acted exemplary in this case, says Ringsvold to the Norwegian newspaper VG.

According to Ringsvold, the error of a subcontractor was the reason why the man was able to win and receive SEK 25 million.

– This is the first time we have experienced such an error, says Ringsvold to the newspaper.
