Women’s Euro handball 2024: main round schedule, rankings and group results

Womens Euro handball 2024 main round schedule rankings and group

A few months after their silver medal at the Olympics, the French hope to bring back the European title.

We left this French team almost on the roof of Olympe in Paris. 5 months later, the French women are back in business for the European handball championship which takes place in three countries, Austria, Switzerland and Hungary from November 28 to December 15 for the grand final. For the first time in history, the tournament is played in the same format as the men’s with 24 teams. There will therefore be a preliminary round with 6 groups then a main round with a group I and II before the semi-finals and the final which will be played in Austria in Vienna.

The Blues hope to take the title from Norway, the latest winner, but historically, this title often eludes the French team which has been chasing it since 2018. Since the end of the Games and the retirement of Olivier Krumbholz, Sébastien Gardillou has took charge of the team and the results have not really been there for the moment, notably with a defeat a few days ago against Spain.
