Two women accused of planning to marry have been arrested in the island nation of Comoros, where same-sex relations are banned, a prosecutor said.
The women are being held in custody in the capital, Moroni, awaiting trial.
“It is well established that these two girls were in a loving relationship with each other and that they lived together for almost two years,” said prosecutors according to AFP.
They risk up to two years in prison or a fine of the equivalent of nearly SEK 7,000.
