Woman was raped in sheltered housing by her ex-husband

Would be “slaughtered” • Sentenced to prison • “Will never let you be”

The couple had agreed that the children would live with their mother after the divorce.

But at the beginning of last year, the man came to their home and attacked his ex-wife.

“You will never have peace of mind”

The man allegedly tore his ex-wife’s clothes before abusing her with both kicks and punches, and then raping her, writes Southeast.

– I will never leave you alone, you will never be at peace, the man is said to have shouted, among other things.

And the incident was the start of months of beatings and abuse.

The woman has stated that she was kept locked up while the violence continued. She is said to have also been threatened with being “slaughtered” and beaten with a gallows.

When she finally managed to raise the alarm, she was moved to a sheltered accommodation in another municipality. But the time in safety was short.

The ex-husband quickly got hold of her and their children’s new address. Also that time, their children saw their mother being threatened and beaten.

Arrested after months of violence

The man was arrested months later after the landlord called the police.

The man has denied the allegations. He claims that it is the woman who has invited him to avoid being alone and that the sex took place at her request.

But the district court rejected the man’s story and believes that the woman told in detail about the events in a credible way. In addition, several of her injuries have been documented, Sydöstran writes.

The man is sentenced to five years in prison at the Blekinge district court for gross violation of women’s privacy, two cases of breach of child protection and two cases of rape. He must also pay SEK 395,000 in damages to his ex-wife and SEK 20,000 each to their joint children.
