    A major operation is underway at the Palace of Versailles outside Paris, local authorities sign off X:

    “Security forces are in place. Avoid the area and follow the instructions of the authorities.”

  • Four cars in a collision

    Four passenger cars have collided on Huddingevägen at the height of Älvsjö in Stockholm.

    The police received the alarm just after 13, and they are on the scene.

    – Two of the cars are not drivable. We are waiting for rescuers, says Per Fahlström at the police.

    The two other cars must be able to drive from the site.

    However, no one affected should have serious injuries.

    – No ambulance had to be called there.

    There is no criminal suspicion at this time.

    There are queues in the direction of Stockholm, but according to the police, one lane is open for traffic past the accident site.

  • Minister of Social Services speaks about the lack of places at Sis

    On Thursday, the government held a crisis meeting after Sweden’s Municipalities and Regions (SKR) raised the alarm that the lack of closed care places is acute and unacceptable.

    58 children and young people who are in urgent need of inpatient care (LVU) are now in the queue, according to the latest statistics from the State Board of Institutions (Sis).

    – The municipalities have given proposals for concrete properties and of course I cannot go into which properties are involved today, but we will have to examine whether they can live up to the security requirements set by Si’s operations, says Social Services Minister Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M ) after the meeting.

  • Shooting in the parking lot

    The police have been alerted to a shooting in Partille in Gothenburg.

    Witnesses reportedly heard shots being fired in a parking lot and then saw a black car leave the scene. A hooded person was also seen running from the scene.

    No one has been injured.

    When the police investigated the scene, they discovered that there were bullet holes in a parked car – which has nothing to do with the incident.

    After a large reconnaissance effort, two people have been arrested.

  • Arrested for crimes against international law

    Three people are now wanted in custody for gross violations of international law in Syria, the Prosecutor’s Office announces.

    The crimes are said to have been committed in Syria in 2012. Several countries have helped arrest them.

    – Thanks to a good cooperation with Germany, Eurojust and Europol in particular, we have now been able to detain the suspects, says District Attorney Ulrika Bentelius Egelrud, who is the head of the preliminary investigation.

    Norwegian media reports on Thursday that Pride terrorist Zaniar Matapour will receive a historically long sentence. VG states that he will be sentenced to 30 years in prison.

    Matapour murdered two people during the Pride party in Oslo in the summer of 2022. At least another 21 people were injured before the shooter could be stopped.

    There is a truck in the ditch on the diversion road at E6, road 650 at Ucklum, write P4 Gothenburg.

    The emergency services are on site and working with any leakage.

    No one should be injured, but traffic may be affected, according to the police.

    According to the Swedish Transport Administration, there is a major impact on traffic, and the forecast is set for 12:30.

  • Technical glitch at Svenska spel – could not pay out winnings

    Svenska spel has had problems paying out winter to its customers due to an operational disruption.

    A person has been found dead in a home in Norrköping.

    The alarm came in to the police last night.

    – It came in as a case of illness. At the scene, a deceased person is found in a residence, says Olle Älveroth, press spokesperson in the police region East.

    At the moment, they cannot rule out that a crime has been committed and they have therefore opened a preliminary investigation into murder.

    – You have to start it in order to be able to investigate it more. We have cordoned off the place and are looking into it further, says Olle Älveroth.

  • Collision between car and motorcycle

    The police have been alerted to a traffic accident between a car and a motorcycle in Sandviken.

    The accident happened around 10:30.

    The driver of the motorcycle, a 35-year-old man, was conscious after the accident, according to police.

    He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The extent of the damage is unclear.

  • Hezbollah: Fired 200 rockets at northern Israel

    Sirens sounded in northern Israel on the border with Lebanon on Thursday morning. According to the Israeli army, 17 alarms were triggered in 1.5 hours in several areas.

    The Iran-backed Shia militia Hezbollah says it fired 200 rockets at Israeli positions in the border area and in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights.

    The attack comes a day after an Israeli strike in Lebanon killed a senior military leader of the Hezbollah militia group.

  • Truck and EPA tractor in collision

    A truck has collided with an EPA tractor north of Lekeryd in Jönköping municipality.

    Two people are said to have been involved in the accident.

    The accident must have happened shortly after 10 o’clock.

    – There is no criminal classification at the moment.

    No one is said to have been injured as a result of the accident.

    The police have left the scene.

  • Man detained after suspected rape

    A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at a campsite in Uddevalla, writes Bohusläningen.

    The rape must have occurred on June 29 in the evening or early the following day.

    “The preliminary investigation is ongoing and usual investigative measures, such as taking samples on site and examining the plaintiff in hospital, have been taken. At this stage, we are now awaiting a response to the investigation measures. Further interrogations must also be held,” writes prosecutor Petra Hallin in an email to Bohusläningen.

  • Telephone abuse at the police and the Stockholm region

    Right now it is a problem to reach the police on 114 14, they write on their website. 112 works as usual.

    During the morning, the Stockholm region also had problems with telephony.

    – Patients find it difficult to call us and we cannot reach each other between the hospitals, receptions or clinics, says an employee at the region to Aftonbladet.

    What caused the error is still unclear, but at 11.30 the region’s press service announced that the malfunction had been fixed.

    Hi Niklas! If we were to write about all the power outages in the whole country, there would be a lot, especially when it is usually very local. We are a nationwide newspaper as you mention, but that also means that we cannot write about everything in every locality.

  • In your top news right now, it says that a top broker is convicted of financial crimes, long prison sentences, but no names.

    In the next news regarding murder and rape or for that matter if it is gang-related, you write out the name and post a picture of the perpetrators. what makes the difference? it’s still the case that there are people who are sentenced to rather long sentences, I don’t see the difference, criminal as criminal!
