A woman in her 40s had to be taken to hospital after she was the victim of a robbery in the Ekhagen area of Jönköping on Wednesday evening.

The woman was alone and was attacked at 11.45 pm by one or more perpetrators.

– It was an extremely serious robbery. I don’t want to go into what kind of injuries she got, they shouldn’t be life threatening but she had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital to stop the bleeding. She is not shot, that much I can say, says Kurt Marklund, officer on duty at police region East.

The police are still tight-lipped about the details of the robbery.

– We do not want to say more because we are going to hear witnesses. But if you have seen something, please call 114 14, says Kurt Marklund.

The robber or robbers are said to have been unknown to the woman and the police have started a preliminary investigation into aggravated robbery.
