Chatham-Kent police are seeking the public’s help after a woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a vehicle in Wallaceburg whose driver failed to remain at the scene.
Police said the 36-year-old woman was hit by an SUV while walking along the St. Clair Parkway in Wallaceburg about 10:30 p.m. Friday. Left with serious injuries, she was taken to hospital.
The vehicle that struck the woman is believed to be a GMC Terrain, between the 2010 and 2015 model years. It would have significant front passenger-side damage, police said.

Two injured, one critically, in Hwy. 401 rollover crash
Two people were taken to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a vehicle rolled and crossed the traffic mid early Saturday on a stretch of Highway 401 just inside Chatham-Kent’s border with Elgin County.
Emergency crews descended about 7:20 am on the scene of the crash on the nation’s busiest highway near its intersection with Duart Road, the OPP said. Both occupants of the vehicle were sent to hospital, the driver with the critical injuries and a passenger with less serious injuries.
The OPP is still investigating the crash and asks anyone with information about it, including having seen the vehicle before the crash, to contact the police force. The OPP are also looking for any dashcam footage of the crash.
