At least seven people, including three children, have died after a woman opened fire at an elementary school in Nashville, USA. The female shooter was shot dead by police. It was at 10:15 a.m. Monday, American time, that the police were alerted to the school shooting that took place at a private Christian school, with students up to the sixth grade. Three adults who worked at the school, and three children were shot to death by the female shooter. – We are working to identify these victims, says Don Aaron, press spokesperson for the Nashville police, during a press conference. Initially, the police stated that the female shooter was “believed” to have been in her teens. She was later identified as 28 years old. Nashville’s police chief says findings indicate the woman was previously a student at the school. Equipped with several weapons During the press conference, the police announced that the woman must have been equipped with two rifles and a firearm. When the police force arrived at the school, gunshots were reportedly heard from the second floor, and a team of five officers went upstairs. – When the officers arrived on the second floor, they saw a female shooter. Two of the officers opened fire on the woman who was shot to death, says Don Aaron. The woman is said to have shot to death about a quarter of an hour after the first alarm call. President informed The White House announces that President Joe Biden has been informed of the incident, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre states that Biden wants to show his appreciation for the emergency personnel who were first on the scene. – We know that our schools are all too often devastated by gun violence, says Jean-Pierre according to CNN. Even the first lady of the United States, Jill Biden, has spoken out. – I am really at a loss for words.
