A 35-year-old woman is sentenced to three months in prison for war crimes after she posed next to desecrated bodies placed by the terrorist group IS in the Syrian city of Raqqa in 2014.
The woman must also have published the images on social media with offensive comments, according to the verdict. The woman, who is from Gothenburg, is said to have traveled to Syria in 2012 and joined the terrorist group after being in the country for some time.
According to the district court, the woman has “clearly expressed her sympathy with IS actions”. The woman denies any wrongdoing.
