A pharmacy has been lex Maria notified for serious medical damage after a woman received eight times too high a dose of a morphine-like drug.

The 86-year-old woman ended up in hospital a few days later for a femur fracture and was sedated for surgery, writes Svensk Farmaci. She then suffered breathing problems due to the high doses of the drug but survived.

Ivo (The Inspectorate for Care and Care) has reviewed the matter and decided not to take any further measures as the pharmacy has now investigated the incident.
