Woman overboard on Cinderella M/S between Åland and Sweden

A woman fell overboard from a cruise ship on the Baltic Sea on Saturday evening.
The woman has not yet been found.
– We have handed the matter over to the police now so that they can investigate what has happened, says Joanna Paraïso,
rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Center JRCC, to TT.

Shortly after 11 p.m. there was an alarm that a woman had fallen overboard on the M/S Viking Cinderella, en route from Stockholm to Åland. That’s what TT writes.

It was when the ship passed north of the Kärven lighthouse in Stockholm’s outer archipelago that a crew member saw the woman fall overboard.

The ship stopped as soon as the alarm went off and an intensive rescue operation began.

Operation completed

At 02:30 on the morning of New Year’s Eve, the woman had not yet been found.

– We have finished the rescue operation after assessing how long one can survive in the water, which is only three degrees, and it is around two hours, Joanna Paraïso tells TT.

The matter has been handed over to the police, who will now investigate what happened.
