Woman overboard from Ms Aurora outside Helsingborg

A person fell overboard from a passenger boat in Öresund on Friday afternoon.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, it is a woman – who has now been rescued by another boat.

A person fell overboard today from the passenger boat Ms Aurora between Helsingborg and Helsingör. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, it is a woman.

– The ship was on its way to Helsingborg from Elsinore. At 12:44 we received an alarm that a person had fallen into the water. We launched a major effort and alerted both the coast guard and maritime rescue. Both boats and helicopters were on their way to the scene, says sea rescue leader Jörgen Hansson.

“Great acting”

A short while after the alarm, new information came. The Danish passenger ferry Ms Pernille spotted the woman in the water and was able to pick her up.

– Pernille has been right behind Aurora. It is unclear whether they heard the alarm or whether they even saw the person fall overboard, says Jörgen Hansson.

– Regardless, it was a great act by them.

The woman has now been taken to Elsinore where ambulances were waiting at the quay. Her condition is unclear. The temperature of the waters was only 3.6 degrees at the time.
