Woman is sentenced to forensic psychiatric care for the murder of Lisbeth, 78

It was at 1:30 p.m. on Friday 8 December that the police were called to Valsätra when a 78-year-old woman was found injured by members of the public in the open street. At the scene, blood was visible in the snow and a walker was overturned. The woman was taken to hospital, but her life could not be saved.

Shortly after the murder, the police arrested a woman in her 30s, who was later arrested on suspicion of murder. The woman has a history of compulsory psychiatric care and appears several times in the charge register.

The woman was charged at the same time with five counts of assault, unlawful threats, violence against a civil servant and aggravated violence against a civil servant.

Sentenced to forensic psychiatric care

A forensic psychiatric examination showed that the convicted woman suffered from a serious mental disorder when she committed the crime – a disorder she still suffers from. Now she is sentenced to forensic psychiatric care with special discharge examination for the murder of Lisbeth Liljegren.

The woman is also sentenced for three cases of assault, one case of illegal threats, violence against a civil servant and serious violence against a civil servant. She is acquitted of two counts of assault.

In total, the woman must pay almost half a million kroner plus interest in damages to the plaintiffs.
