Woman injured in clash, man charged with assault: Chatham-Kent police

A 40-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault after an argument turned violent.

A man and woman were arguing Wednesday around 8 am on St. Clair Street in Chatham when the woman was assaulted, Chatham-Kent police said.

The man was released with a July 22 short date.

Man charged after youth hit with piece of wood

A 50-year-old Chatham Kent man is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

A youth was riding a scooter through a parking lot on King Street East in Chatham around 9 pm Wednesday when a man began to yell at him, Chatham-Kent police said.

The man picked up a piece of wood and threw it at the youth, resulting in minor injury.

Officers arrested the man a short distance away and he was held pending a bail hearing.
