A woman suffered minor injuries after a weekend clash with a man at a Chatham apartment.
Chatham-Kent police responded to the reported altercation on King Street West in Chatham at 10:41 am Sunday and said the situation escalated when the man allegedly struck the woman several times before fleeing with her purse.
When the woman pursued the man, he allegedly threw her cell phone to the ground and broke it. A similar incident allegedly occurred a day earlier, police said.
A 28-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and two counts of assault and mischief, police said.
