In connection with an apartment fire in the district of Haga in Västerås on the night of Friday, a woman was taken to hospital with unclear injuries, according to the police.
The alarm came just before 02:00 on the night of Midsummer Eve. When the emergency services arrived at the current four-storey building in Haga, the apartment was engulfed in flames.
– There has been a fire on the second floor. The fire is out. We are checking the other apartments and the attic. There has been some smoke spread in the stairwell, so it must be ventilated and checked, says Tobias Åkesson, commanding officer, at 02.30.
Other tenants did not have to be evacuated.
